BTC losing the 66k level is not something I take lightly. For a while, it showed relative strength against gold and had a real shot at inheriting part of the digital gold narrative after gold's rally. When the Iran conflict first erupted, BTC held above the 62.5k zone. At that point, it felt like sellers were exhausted and crypto might finally decouple from macro fear. That never happened. Even with progress on the Clarity Act, BTC couldn't break and hold above 82k. Now it's back around 67k. What's concerning is that BTC is trading at these levels while oil sits at 115. Today, we're back at similar prices with CPI next week, and equity traders are likely looking to de-risk ahead of the report. If stocks weaken from here, BTC could easily get dragged down. If we don't reclaim these levels quickly, I think crypto liquidity will stay dead until Q4. For altcoins, it's hard to see any meaningful rotation back in while the majors haven't established clear bottoms. The sector is still viewed as expensive. Until BTC stabilizes, I don't expect broad altcoin participation to return. Right now, I'm less focused on hunting the next crypto narrative and more on identifying a few high-quality names — similar to how you'd pick stocks in equity markets. Crypto feels different this cycle. For the first time, we're seeing some tokens behave more like individual stocks than beta plays on the broader market. Several have significantly outperformed the majors over extended periods. That tells me market structure has changed. Capital has become more selective. At the same time, I still think the majors need to get genuinely cheap before large pools of capital step back in aggressively. That's why it makes sense to focus more on equities over the next few months while crypto goes through another quiet phase. Even ZEC, VVV, and inflows into HYPE came during a period when BTC refused to decline despite the Iran conflict. The market believed cheap sectors had exhausted selle...
